The objective of this project was to create a vector illustration of the car in the reference image using Adobe Illustrator.
Stage 1: Draw Vehicle Outlines
In this step I used the pen and shape builder tools to create the outlines and contour lines of the little car. This was all done within Adobe Illustrator without the use of any auto-tracing of any nature.
Stage 2: Colorize the Drawing
In this step of the process, I then used the live paint bucket tool to colorize each section/layer of the drawing and added the car name in the back to give it some additional personality. Lastly, I enhanced the drawing by adding a gradient mesh to the windows to give it a more realistic feel.
